Some 600 youth took part. They benefited from interacting with 20 employers. From their booths the employers solicited 800 vacancies, conducted 700 on-the-spot job interviews, called 500 job seekers for more thorough interviews and filled 134 vacancies through on-the-spot recruitment. The job bazaar was planned and implemented by the District Secretariat of the District of Ratnapura with technical assistance and support from the Youth Employment Project (ILO/Japan).
