The unit services the policy and planning work of the Provincial Council and especially the newly established Provincial Skills Development Committee. The Committee overseas and plans provincial vocational training provision – including career guidance - against labour market demands. The technical basis and starting point of the Committee’s work is the Vocational Education & Training (VET) plan produced under the project.

The LMI unit is set-up within the Planning Department of the Provincial Council with technical support from the Youth Employment Project (ILO/Japan).
