The committee was earlier called a District Project Advisory Committee (D-PAC). By renaming it into a Youth Employment Coordination Committee (YECC), District authorities have taken full responsibility for putting youth employment on the local policy agenda. This augments well for the sustainability of the Youth Employment Project (ILO/Japan).

At the meeting participants were tasked to a) report on their specific youth employment related activities for the plantation sector and b) develop strategies for better cooperation of youth employment interventions between agencies and authorities. These commitments and issues would be revisited at the next YECC meeting.
