2.     Mission and objectives

 To bring about a positive economic revolution by equipping unemployed youths and small entrepreneurs with necessary capital as well as professional skills.

     1. A decrease in unemployment and/or underemployment among youth
     2. An increase in household income of disadvantaged families in the selected sectors
     3. Positive trends in new business opportunities and employment opportunities, availability of financial services for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), availability of other relevant services for MSMEs, and decrease of ‘red tape’ and other administrative obstacles for businesses as well as engagement of the private sector for social activities.

4.     Partners and areas of partnership

Ministry of Finance (MoF), the Ministry of Local Development (MLD), the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC), the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and their respective regional CCIs, the Industrial Enterprise Development Institute (IEDI), the Nepal Bankers’ Association, the District Development Committees (DDCs), cooperatives as well as banks and financial institutions.

6.     Successful youth employment interventions

     1. Survey of Financial Institutions in Chitwan and Palpa to identify their interests and collect their suggestions;
     2. Application and registration at local Chambers of Commerce and Industry;
     3. Participation in orientation training on small business and entrepreneurship (3 days) provided by CCIs;
     4. Application for a loan up to the maximum amount of Rs. 200,000 through banks and financial agencies; and
     5. Utilisation of the loan for the establishment of new small-scale businesses or strengthening of existing small-scale businesses.
