International Youth Foundation (IYF) Programmes
The IYF prepares young people around the globe to be healthy, productive, and engaged citizens. IYF brings together a network of organizations all working to ensure that youth anywhere on the globe could receive a quality education, learn the skills needed to get a job, and ultimately become engaged in their communities. Interventions dealing with youth issues in Asia and the Pacific include the Education and Employment Alliance, the Education and Livelihood Skills Alliance and the Nokia-IYF Global Youth Development Initiative.

Countries in Asia included: India, Indonesia, Pakistan and the Philippines. The project was supported by USAID and private corporations. Among its activities, ELSA builds and repairs school classrooms and community learning centers; strengthens the pedagogical competencies of teachers; enables out-of-school youth to access alternative, accredited learning programs; provides job opportunities for out-of-school youth; and promotes youth civic engagement and peace building.
