The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) is the Australian Government agency responsible for managing Australia's overseas aid program. AusAID is an Executive Agency within the Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio and reports to the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

2. Mission and Objectives
The Australian Government's overseas aid program is improving the lives of millions of people in developing countries. Australia is working with the governments and people of developing countries to deliver aid where it is most needed and most effective.
Objective of AusAID's education programme:
- Improving access to basic education opportunities for all so that children and youth complete a basic education
- Improving learning outcomes so that children and youth achieve the basic skills necessary for productive lives
- Driving development through better governance and service delivery so that partner governments support quality education for all.

Australia channels its development assistance through bilateral, regional and multilateral programs.

The ILO’s YEP Programme (Timor-Leste) is presently supported through the Australian Government – ILO Partnership Agreement.

AusAID is involved in many youth employment programmes in the Asia Pacific region, especially through its Education Thematic Strategy.
