Youth Employment Forum for Pacific Youth

The 2nd Pacific Youth festival was held in Suva Fiji from July 13th to the 18th, and brought together over 500 Youths/ Youth leaders from around the region. The event was organized around the theme; “ Actioning the Youth Agenda” It is in this regard that ILO Office of the Pacific Island Countries, in the framework of the Youth Employment Programme entitled: Sub-Regional Programme on Education, Employability and Decent Work for Youth in Pacific Island Countries, organized a Public Forum on Youth Employment. The forum will include 5 panelists: Prof Biman Prasad (Dean, Faculty Business & Economics, USP), Rose Maebiru (Youth Officer, SPC), Sydney Fa'asau (Asst CEO Ministry of Youth, Samoa), Ofelia Eugenio (CTA, ILO YEP) and Avinit Narayan (Young Entreprenure, Fiji). The panelists made presentations to the Youths from their respective professional experiences and institutions. The forum stimulated good question and answer sessions bringing out discussion and debate on the issue of Youth Employment. Pictured is Prof Biman making his presentation.
