Foundation for Youth Social Entrepreneurship, 2008 - Despite an annual economic growth rate of 9 percent China is currently experiencing an annual employment gap, affecting increasingly the rising numbers of highly educated university graduates. In this light the paper examines the current perception among Chinese university students of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs in China as well as the entrepreneurial intentions of them. While many past studies have highlighted the entrepreneurial intentions among students in Western Europe and America, information about an Asian perspective are very limited and information about Chinese entrepreneurial intentions are still not to be found in the current literature.
